By Desirée Ruhstrat: Who better to start off the school week than Rachel Barton Pine and her daughter Sylvia, with a fun and nutritious childhood recipe of Rachels called "Peanut Butter Delight"?
This mother-daughter duo not only cooks together but also plays together. Rachel and Sylvia just kicked off a new series here in Chicago for kids and families on Saturday morning for our wonderful Chicago Classical Music Station WFMT called Saturday Morning Listener's Request.
Rachel is a Chicago treasure, generously giving her time and talents to countless organizations and causes, and her Rachel Barton Pine Foundation provides services and funding for classical music education, research, performances, and artists, to benefit listeners and learners alike.

PEANUT BUTTER DELIGHTIngredients:Instructions:
In a cereal bowl, stir together the nut butter, sweetener, spices, and any seeds you wish to include. Put the banana in the bowl, smash it up and stir it together. Add the bread, cereal, or grains, and stir it together. Add any extra nuts, fruit, and garnishes. Stir together or leave the extra ingredients on top of the mash as a decorative layer.

- 1 scoop peanut butter or other nut butter, approximately the amount youd put on a sandwich
- Honey, maple syrup, or jelly, approximately the amount youd put on a sandwich or the equivalent
- 1 or 1 ½ ripe bananas
- Two slices of whole grain bread or toast, ripped into small pieces OR half a bowl of whole grain cereal (flakes, puffed grains, etc.) OR a handful of sprouted grains OR cooked whole grains or oatmeal
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Optional: dash of nutmeg, dash of allspice, dash of cardamom, dash of cloves
- Optional: ground or whole flax seeds, ground or whole chia seeds, sesame seeds, hemp seeds
- Optional: raw peanuts, raw walnut pieces, raw cashew pieces, raw almonds, etc.
- Optional: blueberries, raspberries, raisins
- Optional: raw cacao nibs
