Hilary Hahn's newest album contains Ernest Chaussons Poème, Sergei Prokofievs Violin Concerto No.1 and the late Finnish composer Einojuhani Rautavaaras "Deux Sérénades." Elgars violin concerto "is a huge piece, both in terms of its length and its romantic and noble nature," said violinist Renaud Capuçon. This is Capuçons first recording with Sir Simon Rattle, here conducting the London Symphony Orchestra. Paired with the concerto on this album is Elgar's violin sonata, first performed in 1919.
