By Diana Skinner: In case you thought Rachel Barton Pine wasnt busy enough showcasing 24 violin concertos over 24 weeks, conducting master classes on all six Bach Sonatas & Partitas, championing music by living black composers, filling in for Midori at Ravinia, well, worry no longer. Her latest project is a Baroque Christmas with Trio Settecento. And the good news is that we can join Rachel virtually on Wednesday, December 22 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. (Shhh, dont tell my sister, but this is going to be a little "early" Christmas present we can share.)

Trio Settecento, left, and Sylvia Pine.
Trio Settecento, which features Rachel on violin, John Mark Rozendaal, cello, and David Schrader, harpsichord, will offer up favorites from the French, Italian, and British Isles traditions. (But Im in it for Corellis Christmas Concerto and the Pifa from Handels IMessiah!)
Actually, Im really in it for the guest appearance by Rachels 10-year-old daughter Sylvia Pine. I became familiar with Sylvia when she joined her mom for an episode of Fiddlers Favorite Recipes, right here on v.com. My thought at the time was, Give that girl her own show! Sylvia started violin lessons at age 2 and began using a baroque bow at age 4. This should be fun.
Tickets are $15, plus a $2.50 service fee. Click here to purchase a ticket to the stream, which will continue to be available on-demand 48 hours after the performance.
