2023 Oliveira competition finalists.
The Oliveira competition started on Jan. 15 at Lynn University Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, Fla. The final round will take place January 28 and 29, when each of the four finalists will perform with the Lynn Philharmonia, conducted by Guillermo Figueroa. You can watch the finals (as well as past rounds from this year) on the Oliveira Competition's Youtube page.
Winners will be announced Jan. 29, with awards including a First Prize of $30,000; Second Prize of $15,000; Third Prize of $10,000; and Honorable Mention of $5,000.
The 2023 jury includes violinist Andrés Cárdenes (Chairman), Ilya Kaler, Ida Kavafian, Irina Muresanu, Barry Shiffman, Almita Vamos, and Peter Zazofsky. David Cerone, who served as EOIVC 2020 Chairman of the Jury, will act as an alternate judge.
Past winners include Former Julian Rhee (2020) and Sirena Huang (2017 - the competition's inaugural year).
