The Handel and Haydn Society performed Baroque works at Newport Classical.
  • Boston Musical Intelligencer: "Handel and Haydn achieved that delicate balance of grace and fire, the dulcet tones of their instruments and their inspired playing of music in the best traditions of historically informed performance brought their love of the art in its highest aesthetic ideals to all who were fortunate to be in the audience."
Julia Fischer performed the Beethoven Violin Concerto with Camerata Salzburg at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival.
  • Bach Track: "Fischer took a measured, noble path through the slow movement's variations, capturing a unique sense of sublime quiet present only in a few other of Beethoven's works."
PUBLIQuartet performed the world premiere of Clarice Assad's "Whispers from the Pirate Queen" with soprano Ariadne Greif (stepping in for Renée Rapier) at Newport Classical.
  • Boston Musical Intelligencer: "Capturing the elements of the drama in both the narrated and sung portions of the work, at times humorous, elsewhere haunting, (Ariadne Greif) held a presence that united and gave life to the two visionary women of O’Malley and Hutchinson, accompanied by the bold and dashing music provided by the quartet."
