By Laurie Niles: Violinist Hilary Hahn has withdrawn from all of her performances through November, as she continues to recover from a double pinched nerve that has persisted since July.
"Her medical team has advised her to abstain from strenuous performance and travel as she continues to recover from a double pinched nerve," said a statement on her Facebook page. ![Hilary Hahn]()

"I am extremely disappointed not to be touring with the Berlin Philharmonic or to be returning to Ottawa this month," Hahn said. "Unfortunately, healing follows its own timeline, and I have to respect that if I want to be able to play far into the future. I hope to be on the road again very soon, and I deeply appreciate all the support Ive received during this process. To my colleagues and concertgoers, I am so sorry that I cant be there with you!"
The cancellations will affect her planned U.S. tour with the Berlin Philharmonic, with performances at The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, and in Ann Arbor, Michigan; and concerts with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa.
For the Berlin Philharmonic performances of the Korngold Violin Concerto, Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang will step in for this weekend's Carnegie Hall appearances, and American violinist Benjamin Beilman will perform at the Kennedy Center and in Ann Arbor. Pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko will perform Brahmss Piano Concerto No. 2 with the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
Hahn's recovery has caused cancellations of most of her performances this fall, including scheduled appearances with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
We wish her a thorough recovery!
