Al-Bunduqiyya: The Lost Concerto sets Vivaldi in the context of his native citys historic relationship with the eastern Mediterranean and Asia. "Al-Bunduqiyya" is the Arabic name for Venice and "The Lost Concerto" (Il Concerto Perduto) is a work composed by Giovanni Sollima in 2021, inspired by the only surviving fragment the orchestral viola part of a Vivaldi cello concerto in E minor. The album also features complete concertos by Vivaldi, solo improvisations by Sollima, a piece by Vivaldis long-lived contemporary Tartini, and music of the Cypriot and Albanian traditions. "Moominvalley" is an internationally acclaimed Finnish-British animated series - it premiered in 2019 and was the most-watched series of the year and the fourth most-watched TV program in Finland. Based on the original Moomin works by Tove and Lars Jansson, the series has been sold to over 70 countries. The score for the popular series is composed by Samuli Kosminen, Pekka Kuusisto, and Jarmo Saari. Kosminen and Kuusisto began creating the musical aesthetic of the series in 2017, working together on the first season. (Carrying the baton, Pekkas father, Ilkka Kuusisto, composed the Moomin Opera in the 1970s in collaboration with Tove Jansson). Over the course of four production seasons, these multi-instrumentalists crafted a vast range of captivating moods and touching themes, drawing from the adventures and emotions of the Moomin familyeverything from homesickness and love to mysteries and fun-filled action sequences. Samuli Kosminen and Jarmo Saari produced the compilation album with lovers of Moomins and film music in mind.
