Laureates Announced in the 2017 Sphinx Competition

By Laurie Niles: Congratulations to the winners of the 20th Annual Sphinx Competition, which concluded Sunday with a Finals Concert in Detroit, Mich.! The Sphinx Competition is open to all junior high, high school, and college-age Black and Latino string players residing in the U.S. Jury members for 2017 were Joseph Conyers, Aaron P. Dworkin, Pamela Frank, Charlotte Lee, Dimitri Murrath, Merry Peckham and Lara St. John. Here are this year's laureates: Senior Division Laureates (Age 18-30):
